Flirty Flappers and Fellas - Cookie Class

Class description: Create stylized versions of 1920s era flappers and their fellas. You will learn to plan out simple, cute, characters along with tips and tricks on how to freehand your design onto your cookie. Class will include 4 custom decorated cookies, 2 boys and 2 girls, that you can put your own twist on.

Fondant Workshop

Elegant Gourmet Rose Apple

Class description: In this class, students will learn how to clean apples properly, earn the different chocolates that can be used. Students will also learn how to achieve the perfect chocolate for dipping and coloring your chocolate. As well as how to prepare your apples for dipping and dip molding your apple into a Rose. Learn how to create rose petals using Flexfrost and finish your apple rose by adding some shimmer and rose petals for that elegant look. All materials are included. You will create two apples to take home with you. As an added bonus all students will take home the rose mold used in class. There will be a demo on a chocolate rose apple.

Hello all, I am Melinda Ruiz, the owner of M Cakes and Sweet Treats, LLC and I live in San Antonio, Tx.    I have been designing custom cakes, cookies and treats for family and clients for over 25 years, starting as a self-taught cake artist.  I have been a professional Accountant for 35 years but my passion has always been decorating cakes, so I started M Cakes and Sweet Treats, LLC 4 years ago and have recently expanded my business to include cake/cookie supplies.  I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge to all skill levels including kids and provide group and private cake, cookie and treat classes.  I am a member of Federation International Pastry Gelato Chocolate organization (FIPGC) and have been a board member for 4 years with Frosting Creators of San Antonio cake club.

Drew is an award winning sugar artist who operates an online blog called A Charming Baker. Originally going to college for finance, Drew found his love for cake decorating and baking late in his college life. He became known on campus by students and professors for his ability to create delectable sweets. Shortly after graduating with top honors from school, Drew sought to travel the country competing at various cake competitions while working for the largest financial institution in the state of Texas. After winning several awards while having his wedding cakes featured in numerous publications, Drew decided to pursue his passion for the sugar arts full time. Drew currently shares his tried and true recipes and decorating tips on his blog, but also travels the country educating individuals on how to further their passion artistically and financially in sugar.

Baby Unicorn Class

Class description: In this class students will learn figure modeling using modeling paste. We will pay special attention to the anatomy and proportions of the face, then work on the body, arms and hands, and finish with clothing and accessories. All modeling will be done by hand with few tools and without using molds.

La Belle Aurore is composed of Aurora Bonafede (graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts), Cristina Bonafede (Interior and Technical Web Designer) and Massimiliano d’Orso (master goldsmith).

Their adventure began in 2012 with participation in the “Cake for children” competition, where they won the first prize.

Since then, they have obtained a long series of awards, participating in many competitions including: “Glamor Italian cakes” (SigepRimini 2013), “Cake Festival” (first prize -Milan 2013-2014), “Cake Fest” (first prize- Caserta 2013- 2014), “Cake International” (two gold medals – Birmingham 2013-2014), “World Championship” (gold medal – Massa Carrara 2014) and “Cake Festival” (best cake designer- Milan 2015) .

In February 2016 La Belle Aurore participated in “That Takes the Cake” (Round Rock-Texas) with a cake in honor of Shirley Temple, representing her films with dolls. They won three awards: gold in the “Master”, “Best Division Master” and “Best of Show” categories.

In the same year, at the New York Cake Show, they were ranked among the 10 best cake designers in the world.

The three artists stand out for their unique modeling techniques, as well as for the use of the multi-layer technique.

My name is Veronica Pepsy Garcia and go by my middle name, Pepsy. I am a Northwood University graduate with a bachelor’s in business administration, Professional Cake Designer Graduate from the Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts in Toronto, Canada and Professional Baking and Pastry Chef Graduate from Cerritos College.  I run my business from home, do spontaneous live streams on Instagram and teach at a local store.  I am currently transitioning to becoming an instructor at events nationwide.  My goal is to teach upcoming passion filled sugar artist techniques that can be applied to every order.

The Great Gatsby - Beginner Cake Pop Class

Class description: In this class you will learn how to make the perfect cake dough, correctly melt candy melts, dip cake pops, make up side-down pops, make a two-toned cake pop, use silicone mold with fondant, cut small fondant pieces to fit your cake pop, apply decorations to your pops, make a ruffle flower and use Poppy Paint.

Instructor: Jennifer Reese

My name is Jennifer Reese and I am the owner and founder of Good Gosh Ganache.  I began my journey as an artist in 2004, as an undergraduate student in Environmental Design at Texas A&M University.  I graduated in 2007 with my bachelor’s and continued on with post graduate work in Visualization Science.  After working in graphic design for a few years, I decided I wasn’t quite where I wanted to be and made the decision to attend culinary school at the Culinary Institute Le Notre, here in Houston, Texas.  I graduated with an Elite Diplome de Patisserie in 2012, and it was then my passion for sugar artistry began.  Every year my cakes get bigger, brighter and more out of the box, which is just the way I like it.  I strive to give each of my clients something unique, and really enjoy bringing together their ideas with my own for a successful collaboration and beautiful final product.

Instructor: Megan Byers

Megan is a self taught baker in northeast McKinney, Texas. She opened Tiny Kitchen Cakery in the spring of 2011 after falling in love with creating cakes for her family. Her pinpoint accuracy and attention to minute details is of the utmost importance for every client she serves. She invests her heart and soul into every creation that leaves her bakery. Not only does she enjoy creating, she also has a passion for teaching other bakers a wide range of skills to grow their businesses and hobbies.
